We see great potential for Rhynchosia minima var. minima and are seeking to increase seed stock. Whilst being an Australian native plant it is found on all continents and has properties suited greatly to rehabilitation practitioners and pastoralists alike. These include:
Nitrogen fixing
Palatable to livestock
Wide distribution
Excellent ground covering qualities whilst tending not to smother upright vegetation
Persistence
Produces reasonable quantities of seed
Competes well on heavy soils
Occurs mostly throughout Queensland including coastal and western regions. Some occurrences in northern New South Wales.
