Description

"Shrub to 3 m tall; indumentum grey to grey-brown, the hairs coiled to straightish." (Flora of Australia)

Notes

"Vegetatively similar to Hovea apiculata q.v. Leaves are usually green and often glossy but a form from the Nandewar Ra. in northern N.S.W. has dull, grey leaves." (Flora of Australia) "Grows in shaly and skeletal soils and in loams overlying granite and metamorphic rock in forest and woodland." (Flora of Australia) Hovea lanceolata is much less common in Queensland than in New South Wales, however there is some intensity of herbarium occurrence records from forests southeast of Toowoomba. Historical Notes

Distribution

From near Sydney in NSW, north to Maryborough, Queensland. Mostly subcoastal to as far west as the Pillaga Scrub in NSW and Bellington Hut SF in Queensland which is (west of Taroom).
