Geijera salicifolia produces fruit which will dehisce in a similar fashion to the smaller species, Geijera parviflora.
"Known from New Guinea, Australia, and New Caledonia. In Australia occurs in Western Australia (Hamersley Range), northeast Northern Territory, and from Coen, northeast Queensland, to Budderoo National Park, east-central New South Wales." (Flora of Australia)
