Family | Myrtaceae |
"Tree to 25m tall, or rarely a mallee to 5m tall." (Euclid, 4th Ed.)
Seed from Eucalyptus microcarpa is harvested with the same considerations as for Eucalyptus moluccana with which it has many similarities. In Queensland, this species replaces E. moluccana as one moves inland. Eucalyptus pillagaensis has finer leaves and fruit again. Seed production per amount of material harvested becomes less as the capsules become smaller in each of these three taxa.
Widespread on the western slopes and plains of New South Wales and adjacent areas of south-eastern Queensland; also northern Victoria and the south Flinders Range area of South Australia. It differs from E. moluccana in the narrower leaves and smaller buds and fruit.
