Queensland Native Seeds

Daviesia filipes

Scientific NameDaviesia filipes
CategoriesNitrogen FixerShrubSubshrub
Common Name(s)
FamilyFabaceae

Description

"Shrub to ca 1.5m tall; branches and leaves softly hairy." (Stanley and Ross, 1983)

Notes

Daviesia filipes occurs on gravelly ridges in our region, usually in Corymbia citriodora forest. The native peas are diverse and warrant careful identification. This one has softly hairy leaves which are narrowly oblong however they are pungent, meaning the leaf tip is sharp to touch.

Seed production from Daviesia filipes, like many native peas, is low for the time involved. However, the seed is relatively small which increases the seed count.

Historical Notes

Distribution
