Description

B. populneus seed is collected in significant quantities for mine rehabilitation. Seed is easily germinated in controlled propagation facilities and initial growth is relatively rapid.

Historical Notes

Distribution

There are two subspecies of this taxon. B. populneus subsp. trilobus is recorded from approximately 75km SW of Cairns down through coastal and inland parts of Queensland and through western NSW. B .populneus subsp. populneus occurs from Shoalwater Bay in Queensland SW to Rolleston extending down the coast and adjacent inland through NSW, Victoria and in eastern South Australia.
