"Rhizomatous perennial. Culms 100–200 cm high, 5–10 mm diam. Leaves 7–11 mm wide." (PlantNET)
We observe this sedge within wetland areas or what are normally passive streams. The seed collection process when cutting by secateur is reasonably productive compared to some other Cyperaceae taxa we have encountered.
From the south-east corner of South Australia, through Vic, NSW and SE Qld, mostly coastal and adjacent inland. A few isolated occurrences in western NSW near the Qld border and in central-western Qld. Also some isolated occurrences along the Qld coastline and adjacent inland northwards almost to Cairns.
