The seed of Coast Banksia is usually required by nurseries for controlled propagation. The seed collector may need to distinguish three subspecies of Banksia integrifolia. They are Banksia integrifolia subsp. integrifolia, Banksia integrifolia subsp. monticola and Banksia integrifolia subsp. compar.
