Description

"Densley tufted perennial up to ca 90cm tall; culms erect from short rhizome..." (Stanley, T.D. & Ross, E.M. (1989))

Notes

"Astrebla pectinata is a vigorous perennial that persists under adverse conditions such as heavy stocking and drought. Pastures dominated by the species produce an abundance of fodder and thus are capable of maintaining large numbers of stock for long periods. They are particularly valuable in good seasons when associated short-lived grasses and forbs are prolific." (Simon, B.K. & Alfonso, Y. 2011. Ausgrass2)

Historical Notes

Distribution

Found over much of inland Qld, NSW, SA and NT. In WA however, it is restricted to the northern half of the state and is seen along the coast in places.
