Description

"Multistemmed, resinous shrub to c. 4 m high." (WorldWideWattle ver. 2)

The Broom Wattle, Acacia tenuissima, is obvious when pale cream-brown pods mature. These densley adorn the upper branches making the seed crops easily visible whilst driving. Collection of the seed is by simple means however dust which comes from crushing the seed pods is offensive and must be avoided when cleaning. We noted considerable stands of Acacia tenuissima around Mount Isa and Belyando much further east.

Notes

"Common in eucalypt woodland, often with spinifex, in sandy soils. Flowers mainly Mar.–Aug." (WorldWideWattle ver. 2)
