Common Name(s) | Mountain Hickory |
Family | Fabaceae, Subfamily Mimosoideae |
"Shrub or small tree to 8 m high, commonly smaller." (WorldWideWattle ver. 2)
We observe Acacia pennineris subsp. penninervis in subcoastal eucalypt forests where it is common and locally abundant; often occurring in Spotted Gum forests. It is also recorded on the coast. Like Acacia bancroftiorum with which it may be found, the plants are relatively accessible and the seed is simple to collect after Winter rain allows crop formation.
"Occurs predominantly on the Great Divide from Blackdown Tableland, Qld, S through N.S.W. and A.C.T. to Monument Ridge, Vic., with a outlier near Longwood, Vic." (WorldWideWattle ver. 2)
